LAHORE (Dunya News) Lawyers in lower courts on Monday have fully boycotted the court proceedings as a reaction against Pindi chaos that claimed many lives and loss of billions of rupees immoveable property which was set on fire by religious extremists in the name of so-called rituals.
The step was taken on the appeal of Punjab Bar Council which urged lawyers’ community to stand by their brother in this hour of trouble and trial. At this, lawyers boycotted judicial proceedings in all lower courts including Session Court, District Court and Model Town Court due to which more than 10,000 case were postponed without any proceeding.
Judges conducted hearing of important cases in their chambers.
Lawyers’ community has demanded of the government to take stern action against the mafia which was responsible for Rawalpindi tragedy.
