Summary Says the government would have to take extraordinary measures to avert sectarian clashes.

LAHORE (Web Desk) - Jamaat e Islami Ameer Syed Munawar Hasan said that foreign agencies were involved in the incident.

He expressed deep grief over the loss of life and property in a sectarian incident occurred on Friday in Rawalpindi.

In a statement here on Saturday, Munawar said that government had failed to maintain law and order. He said, after the Gujranwala incident, the security should have been high alert but the government was content with routine security measures and the miscreants got an opportunity to achieve their goal.

The JI Ameer said, the government would have to take extraordinary measures to avert sectarian clashes in the country because the anti state and anti-Islam forces never missed any opportunity to harm national unity and harmony.

Syed Munawar Hasan called upon the government to convene a meeting of the leading Ulema from the both sides to reach the roots of the matter and the side that was found at fault, must be given stringent punishment so that nobody had the courage to disturb peace again.

Munawar Hasan also appealed to the both sides to display patience and tolerance as Islam preached love and brotherhood. Shedding the blood of fellow Muslims was not permissible n Islam and it also undermined unity of the Ummah, he added.
