Sindh govt files petition to change LB polls' schedule

Summary Sindh government has filed the petition in Supreme Court’s Karachi Registry.

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) - The government of Sindh on Friday filed a petition in the Supreme Court, seeking extension in holding local government elections which are scheduled to be held on November 27, Dunya News reported. 

The provincial government in its petition has pleaded that it required more time to finalize arrangements including printing of ballot papers for the local bodies election.

Arrangements for LB polls also require some time due to security situation, the government stated.

The petition further stated that ““Sindh government wishes to hold the election on December 7 as it is scheduled in Punjab and Balochistan.”
