Summary Says the SC gave very short time to action committee for Local Bodies polls.
ISLAMABAD (Online) - Leader of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), Dr Farooq Sattar has said that the party has reservations as it was not taken into confidence over delimitations in Karachi before Local Government (LG) elections.
Talking to media outside Parliament House on Thursday, Sattar added that Supreme Court gave very short time to action committee for Local Bodies (LB) polls, adding it was impossible for action committee to hold LB polls timely, he added.
Dr Farooq Sattar reminded that the resolution submitted to parliament had a demand that LB polls should be held in January so all the political parties can launch election campaign in their respective areas.
“MQM is the biggest party of Karachi and it was ignored on the issue of delimitations so its reservations would be addressed,” he demanded.
Talking about former president Pervez Musharraf’s bail, MQM stalwart said that objection on Musharraf’s release equals to arise question on free judiciary.
Commenting upon talks with Taliban, negotiation process had started when opposition mandated government to hold talks with Taliban in All Parties Conference.
MQM neither gave conditions nor expressed reservations about drones but issue of talks is different now, he added.
