ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Agitated over Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar’s behavior, the opposition parties are holding Senate session outside Parliament House on Wednesday.
Addressing the session, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Senator Raza Rabbani said on Wednesday that parliamentary traditions were exploited in the Parliament House while it has been made hostage.
He said that opposition do not seek apology from Chaudhry Nisar, rather, he has been asked to retract his reply.
Raza Rabbani further stated that Ch Nisar tried to justify the US drone strikes.
Meanwhile, Federal Minister for Power and Water Abid Sher Ali also arrived at the protest camp but left within few minutes.
WHEN IT ALL STARTED!
A war of words broke out between Rabbani and Nisar on October 30 after Nisar presented figures of casualties from terrorist attacks – stats which were swiftly challenged by an ANP senator who called them a “pack of lies”.
PPP senator Aitzaz Ahsan further asked the interior minister to take back the statistics and return with correct numbers.
Nisar remained unmoved in his seat and this response triggered a heated altercation among the members of the two benches.
Later, the opposition parties turned irritated and started protest in the Senate over confusing data provided by Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan and finally staged walk out of the upper house of parliament complaining against misbehavior of the Interior Minister.
