LAHORE (Dunya News) – Following the approval of the Punjab governor, the provincial government on Tuesday issued gazette notification of the Local Government Amended Ordinance 2013.
In the Local Government Amended Ordinance 2013, several amendments have been made to the Punjab Local Government Act 2013. The amendments have been made to the Sections 12, 13, 14, 15, 19, and 21, and Part-I, Part-II, Part-III and Part-IV of the First Schedule of Punjab Local Government Act 2013.
While amending the Clause-D of the Section-13, condition of 200 registered voters in UC for the election of minority member has been abolished. Besides, there would be three minority members in a Municipal Committee.
Moreover, amendments have also been made regarding the appointment of District Returning Officers and Assistant Returning Officers for holding the local bodies’ elections.
