Opposition fails to reach consensus on drone attacks

Summary All opposition parties are likely to have a meeting on the same issue tomorrow on Wednesday.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Opposition parties including PPP, Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf, MQM and Jamat-e-Islami could agree to table resolution against drone attacks. 

All leaders of above-mentioned parties held a meeting in Islamabad chaired by Opposition leader Khurshid Shah and reflected over bringing a joint resolution against drone attacks and further dialogue with Taliban.

PPP, MQM and ANP opposed the steps to halt Nato supply. PTI Shah Mahmood Quareshi and Sherin Mazara were favouring their stance in this regard.

Sahibzada Tariq was representing Jamaat Islami while MQM’s Rashid Godeel, Iqbal Muhammad Ali, Shaikh Salahuddin and Dr Faqooq Sattar were participated.

Tariq Bashir Cheema was speaking on the part of the PML-Q while Ghulam Ahmad Balour was speaking on the part of the Awami National Party (ANP).

Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rashid was also present in the party.

Last day, KP assembly had approved a resolution against drone attacks and demanded of the federal government to halt the supply to NATO forces in Afghanistan.

PTI also submitted anti drone resolutions in Punjab and Sindh assemblies.
