ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) - Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Tuesday stated that anyone killed by the United States, even if it is a dog, is a martyr.
Talking to media in Islamabad, he said that a lot of people still want peace negotiations, therefore,
JUI-F wants to move forward with the peace negotiations together with the other parties.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman gave these remarks when media person questioned him regarding the US drone strike on November 1 that killed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) leader Hakimullah Mehsud.
Later addressing the National Assembly, he said Islam has nothing to do with extremism and terrorism as it abhors the bloodshed of innocent people.
He said there is a need to address root causes of terrorism for revival of peace and stability in the country.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman said dialogue‚ and not the use of force is the only way to steer the country out of current situation.
He said the government should convene another All Parties Conference to find a way forward following the situation created by the recent drone attack.
The JUI-F chief appreciated the government’s efforts for peace process and said no hurdles should be created in the way.
