SC rejects all petitions regarding CM Shahbaz's disqualification

Summary Justice Saqib Nisar says none of the courts has mentioned the attack on Supreme Court in verdict.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) Supreme Court Tuesday has set aside all petitions regarding disqualification of Punjab chief minister Shahbaz Sharif. 

Two-member bench conducted hearing of petitions according to which the court was requested to disqualify chief minister Shahbaz Sharif on the grounds of an attack on the building of the apex court in 1999.

Justice Saqib consulted why Sharif Brothers had come to the court for interrogation if they were not involved in the attack.

Advocate General said that the petitioner has made federation as party in the petition; that is why Sharif Brothers had appearing in the court.

Upon this, Justice Saqib said that the court has not mention in its verdict about the attack on suprme court, with the order that all petitions in this regard are set aside forever.

The court further commented that all petitions have been set aside while keeping in view the merit.
