LAHORE (Web Desk) - Government Degree College for Women Shahdara organisedan an anti-Dengue awareness walk on Sunday.
Principal Shahida Mehtab led the walk. A large numbers of students as well as teaching and non-teaching staff were also present.
Officers of Lahore Development Authority (LDA) also organised an awareness walk, in connection with anti-Dengue campaign, at Johar Town.
During the walk they distributed wakefulness pamphlets among the people regarding causes of the spread of Dengue and precautionary measure to be adopted against it.
On the directives of Director General LDA comprehensive measures had been adopted by LDA for eradicating the chances of the presence of Dengue larva in and around LDA offices.
Moreover, all the debris and junk had been removed from various places. Buckets had been placed under the drain pipes of air conditioners for collecting the water discharged from them. Water accumulated at various places had also been dried. Spray of insecticides had been carried out everywhere and fogging has been done for plants.
Meanwhile Additional Director General H.Q) LDA Mariam Kayani has directed all the focal persons for regularly visiting the premises assigned to them and submitting a certificate daily regarding the none-presence of Dengue larva at these places.
The walk was participated by Chief Engineer LDA Asrar Saeed, Director DG s (HQ) Rana Muhammad Shahzad, Director Engineering (HQ) Mudassar Tanvir Sheikh, Ejaz Kousar, Malik Mushtaq, Hasnain Baqir, Shakeel Anjum Minhas and a large number of other officers and officials.
