Summary Remove the irresponsible officials if they are not fulfilling their duties, the CJP ordered.

KARACHI (Web Desk) – Supreme Court has rejected the action plan presented by the Attorney General regarding illegal weapon and drug smuggling during a hearing of the Karachi law and order case.

A larger bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry was hearing the case today (Thursday) at Supreme Court’s Karachi Registry.

During case proceeding, Attorney General Munir A. Malik presented a report about the smuggling of drugs and weapons in the country.

The report was prepared in a meeting attended by the authorities of Maritime Security Agency, Coast Guard, Anti Narcotics Force and other concerned departments.

The chief justice while rejecting the report said that not a single word in the report states what action will be taken regarding the smuggling taking place in the city, rather it has only mentioned the legal clauses.

“Even the Lieutenant General of the army is scared to write the name of Yousuf Goth,” he remarked.

CJP Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry said it seems that no one wants to work. Anyone who does not want to work should be removed from duty.

“No report has been presented in front of the court regarding the weapons that came in 1994,” he added.

The Chief Justice ordered the chairman of Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to present a report having the details of arms and weapons imported through the dealers during the past three years.
