Summary No agenda of the day was taken up today due to lack of quorum in Senate.

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Opposition parties have decided to boycott Senate session till Monday, Dunya News reported.

Senator Aitzaz Ahsan chaired meeting of the opposition parties in Parliament today (Thursday) to finalise strategy over Senate session.

Opposition parties have decided to expand range of protest against Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar. In this regard, leader of the opposition in the National Assembly Syed Khurshid Shah will be taken into confidence.

According to sources, opposition parties will also contact Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf to protest against the Interior Minister.

The parties are reviewing option to move privilege motion against Chaudhry Nisar.

Senator Aitzaz Ahsan said that Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar’s behavior is unacceptable, adding that he has ignored the democratic norms.

On Wednesday, the opposition members staged a walkout from the House on the submission of unsatisfactory reply by the Interior Ministry regarding the number of people killed in terrorist acts in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province.

On the occasion‚ exchange of harsh words also took place between the opposition members and Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar.

The Senate which resumed its session in Islamabad today was adjourned to meet again tomorrow morning at 10:30.

No agenda of the day was taken up today due to lack of quorum. At the outset Islamuddin Shaikh pointed out the lack of quorum.

The chair ordered the count and found the quorum falling short of the required number. On this the chair adjourned the session till tomorrow morning.
