Summary Petitions cannot be kept adjourned till the upcoming elections, Justice Ejaz remarks.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) Justice Ejaz Chaudhry has remarked that election petitions cannot be kept pending for 5 years and these will be decided in time.
A 2-member bench of Supreme Court (SC), comprising Justice Ejaz Chaudhry and Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed took up the petition of Jahangir Tareen.
Justice Ejaz Chaudhry further remarked it has been made clear in Sumaira Malik case that election petition will be decided in time.
“Election petition will not be allowed to be kept adjourned till the upcoming election”.
On this occasion, Sadique Baloch the rival candidate of Jahangir Tareen, pleaded to court that his counsel has gone to perform Hajj so he should be given more time.
Court directed Sadique Baloch if your counsel does not appear in court in next hearing then come with new lawyer. After that court adjourned the hearing of case till November 11.
