Summary Core Committee proposes that Imran Khan should contest for Opposition leader in NA.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) –Core Committee of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has rejected the suggestion that Sheikh Rasheed should replace Syed Khursheed Shah as Opposition leader in the National Assembly.

It suggested that Imran Khan himself should contest for the leader of the Opposition in NA.

It was also decided that the support of MQM in this regard should not be sought.

It must be noted here that MQM has already announced that it would not be part of any move against Syed Khursheed Shah.

However, Imran Khan in a statement has asked the party leaders not to issues any statements in connection with the replacement of Opposition leaders.

The PTI meeting decided to launch a protest campaign against price hike from November 1 and also gave approval to challenge the appointment of NAB chief in the court.

Earlier, there were speculations that PTI would project Sheikh Rasheed as Opposition leader.


On Friday the Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan said that his party was trying to remove the incumbent leader of the opposition in the National Assembly Khursheed Shah and bring in the real opposition leader.

Imran told a press conference here that the PTI would have a meeting Saturday to ponder ways and means to push for the removal of Khursheed Shah.

The PTI chief alleged that the leader of the opposition, the new NAB chief and the proposed chairman of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) were the result of a deal between the PML-N and PPP.
