Summary Rangers continued the targeted operation in troubled Lyari neighbourhood on Thursday.
KARACHI (Web Desk) - At least eight suspects were arrested as Rangers continued to carry out their targeted operation in the troubled Lyari neighbourhood of the city on Thursday.
The raid was aimed at apprehending the head of the outlawed Amn Committee Uzair Baloch. However Baloch once again evaded authorities and managed to flee.
During the operation, Rangers took down posters of the Amn committee along with removing the barricades setup near the residence of Baloch.
The Rangers have conducted over 15 raids and the police over 6 on the residence of Uzair Baloch.
In Lyari, the Rangers also recovered hand grenades, 14 SMGs and other weapons.
The Rangers spokesman said 29 suspects were arrested during overnight raids and weapons were recovered from their possession.
The suspects are said to be affiliated with gangs in Lyari and political parties. The spokesman informed that raids were carried out in Lyari, Liaqatabad, Burns Road, Bilal Colony, Landhi, Sohrab Goth and other areas of the city.
