Summary DG Health has been suspended over showing negligence in prevention against measles.
LAHORE (Dunya News) - Punjab government has suspended Director General Health Services on showing negligence against prevention of measles.
Media reports said, suspension has been made following the report of investigation commission.
Government had moved the recommendation of inquiry against DG Health Services Dr Tanvir, Secretary Fawad Hassan Fawad, Jahanzeb Khan and Arif Nadeem on June 10, 2013.
On Monday, investigation commission presented its investigation report comprising of 41 pages.
Following the report Dr Tanvir has been suspended, however no action has been taken against all other secretaries.
Earlier, the Lahore High Court has sought an explanation from Punjab government over criminal action against those responsible for the deaths caused by measles.
During the course of proceedings, commission report was presented before the court.
The counsel for Punjab government appraised the court about the action being taken against the employees responsible for the casualties.
Justice Khalid Mahmood Khan questioned as to why the culprits are not being tried in criminal cases as they are responsible for casualties of innocent peoples.
Adjourning the hearing, the court summoned a report on October 23 over the criminal action being taken against the culprits serving in the Punjab government.
