ISLAMABAD (Online) – JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has said Afghan President Hamid Karzai has assured the release of all Pakistani prisoners in his country adding that he managed to get more for Pakistan than 8 years of diplomacy.
Talking to media on Monday after his return from Afghanistan Maulana Fazl termed his trip as successful and said that he managed to obtain more results in three days of his visit than diplomacy could in 8 years.
“Now it is up to the government to make use of the reconciliation process”, he said.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman said his party supports talks between Afghan Taliban and the United States.

The JUI-F chief further said that he had not known under which agenda Afghan president had invited him to visit Kabul.
He said that Indian lobby strengthened in Afghanistan after the fall of Taliban government.
Fazl further said that Pakistan failed to find space in Afghanistan even after rendering sacrifices in Jihad.
Fazlur Rehman stressed that Pakistan should be given an active role in the resolution of Afghan problem.
“The present efforts do not appear to be deep-rooted. We must remember that Pakistan is an important player in the Afghan solution,” said Fazl.
He added that it was up to the stakeholders to define and devise Pakistan’s role in the process, but it must be done.
Fazl said Afghanistan was a regional problem and Pakistan being its immediate neighbour was the most pertinent actor in any solution.
The JUI-F supports peace process as it engages Taliban into talks and aims to end conflict, said Fazl.
He said the international community and the US should actively pursue internal reconciliation to bring political stability to Afghanistan. “So that after 2014 US withdrawal, Afghanistan does not go back into civil war,” said Fazl.
In response to a question he said that PM Nawaz Sharif was taken on board on his trip to Afghanistan and he had supported the trip.
He said that his and US Secretary of State John Kerry presence in Afghanistan at the same time was mere coincidence and no meeting took placve between him and Kerry.
