CHINIOT (Dunya News) – Death toll in accident between a passenger van and a dumper near Chiniot has climbed to 17.
According to details, a van carrying 18 people from Islamabad to Faisalabad collided with a dumper in Rao Bagh area near Chiniot due to overspeeding.
The van caught fire after the collision as a result 17 people, including two minor kids, were burnt alive. The identity of the victims is not yet known.
The rescue teams cut the body of the van to recover dead bodies.
Talking to media, DCO Chiniot, Irshad Ahmed, informed that the doors of the van got locked after the collision due to which the passengers were burnt alive.
Meanwhile, DPO Rao Munir Zia informed media that the fire in the van was not caused by cylinder explosion.
