Summary Almost all political leaders have accepted government’s invitation to attend the conference.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Government has called all parties conference on September 9 to discuss law and order situation of the country and devise a comprehensive strategy for overcoming terrorism.
Interior Minister Ch Nisar Ali Khan held telephonic conversation with political leaders and invited them on behalf of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to participate in the conference.
Almost all political leaders have accepted the invitation. It has also been reported that PTI chief who earlier declined to attend the conference has also promised to participate.
The minister talked to the leaders including Imran Khan‚ Maulana Fazal ur Rehman‚ Syed munawar Hassan‚ Syed Khursheed Shah‚ Dr. Farooq Sattar‚ Mir Hasil Bizanjo‚ Asfand Yar Wali Khan‚ Mahmood Khan Achkzai‚ Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain‚ Imtiaz Sheikh and Sajid Mir.
Earlier, the APC scheduled for July 12 was delayed when PTI Chairman announced that he would be leaving for the UK before the conference.
However, PTI leaders later claimed that the APC was postponed because the government wasn’t ready with its presentation and said that other people from PTI could have attended in Khan’s stead.
Interior Minister had indicated last month that APC will be held by the end of August.
