PESHAWAR (Dunya News) - One suspected terrorist was killed whereas another was detained during an overnight clash with the locals in Bannu district.
As per details, residents of Bannu’s Haji Anwar Khel area spotted six suspicious men on Wednesday night and asked them to stop. However, the suspected men opened fire on the area’s dwellers.
During an exchange of fire between the two sides, one suspect was killed whereas another was captured and handed over to the police. The remaining four suspects escaped from the scene.
The suspects aged between 14 and 15 years were trying to plant a bomb on the roadside, state radio reported.
A case was lodged against the suspected militants at a local police station.
Bannu has been a flashpoint for militants attacking security personnel and civilians.
Police -- more lightly equipped than army soldiers -- are frequently targeted by the militants while travelling in exposed vehicles.
