Summary Govt sources had earlier confirmed that PM would hold a one-on-one meeting with Dr Sattar.
KARACHI (Dunya News) - Muttahida Quami Movement Tuesday canceled the meeting between party leader Dr Farooq Sattar and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
Government sources had earlier confirmed that Prime Minister Sharif would hold a one-on-one meeting with Dr Sattar.
The decision came following the withdrawal of Dr Sattar’s invitation to attend the federal cabinet session to review the law and order situation in Karachi on Wednesday.
MQM Rabta committee’s deputy convener Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui has said that MQM rejects the one-on-one meeting of Dr. Farooq Sattar with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
Siddiqui said governor doest not represent any party as he is representative of federation in the province.
He added that MQM is the only political party which has the mandate and representation of the people of Karachi.
He also said that cancelling the MQM’s invitation to All Parties Conference (APC) is very disappointing.
Earlier, both the leaders were scheduled to meet in a one-on-one meeting to discuss the current law and order situation of the city.
