LAHORE (Dunya News) - Mian Aslam Iqbal of Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf submitted the anti-drone resolution in Punjab Assembly on Tuesday.

Opposing the resolution, Punjab Law Minster Rana Sanullah said that there was no need of the resolution as the government was raising the issue before the international community.

He said that the government already discussed the matter with UN chief Ban Ki-Moon during his visit to Pakistan.

The content of the resolution said killing of innocent people by the spy plane strikes and attacks were called as attack over independence and sovereignty against Pakistan.

Earlier, PTI also submitted a resolution in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s provincial assembly against drones terming the strikes as violation of human rights and the country’s sovereignty.

Meanwhile, the House passed the resolutions of introducing amnesty scheme in the province and declaring the status of Tehsil to Basirpur, a town in Okara district.

Opposition members attended the session wearing black ribbons around their arms and staged protest at the entrance of the Punjab Assembly against the new local bodies system.
