Summary Local govt bill violates Article 140-A of the Constitution, says opposition.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Joint opposition in Punjab on Tuesday summoned all parties’ conference (APC) to discuss province’s new local government system.
Opposition parties including Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf, Pakistan Peoples Party, Jamaat-i-Islami and Pakistan Muslim League-Qauid termed the local government bill as unconstitutional.
Opposition parties have vowed to strongly protest against the mov .
Opposition leader in the Punjab Assembly, Mehmood-ur-Rasheed told media that protests will be lodged inside and outside of the assembly building if the bill gets approval.
He said protest demonstrations have been planned on Friday across the province.
