ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has approved decrease in the electricity tariff by Re 0.30 per unit.
According to NEPRA, the approval has been made on account of fuel adjustment charges for the month of July, and the consumers would get benefit in next month’s bill.
NEPRA said revision in reference tariff mechanism, and rise in hydro power generation were the main cause behind reduction in power tariff.
According to NEPRA, 9.80 billion units of electricity were generated during the month of July.
NEPRA has expressed annoyance over line losses and has sought the record of power generation and distribution of the month of July from power distribution companies.
All distribution companies except KESC would be bound to implement the decision of reduction in tariff.
