ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Federal Interior Minister Choudhry Nisar Ali has said some alarming facts have come to light after investigation in the case of Sikandar.
Addressing the National Assembly on Monday Nisar revealed that after interrogation it had been learnt that Sikandar was not alone in his action and there were local and international handlers involved.
The minister said a religious personality from Hafizabad has also been arrested and police were interrogating him.
“The literature recovered from this religious personality is alarming,” Nisar said.
Two arms’ dealers have also been arrested from Pasrur who have admitted to selling two guns to Sikandar, he said.
Nisar regretted that some politicians and media persons were indulging in unjustified criticism over the Islamabad incident.
He called upon media persons to observe the code of conduct while covering such events.
Pakistan is facing a unusual security situation and media must realize this while live coverage of terrorist activities.
He said he had asked PEMRA to contact and request media owners to stop the live coverage of Islamabad standoff but the media refused to honour the request.
