LAHORE (Dunya News) - At least eight people, including a woman, were killed in roof collapse incidents in different areas today (Friday).
A woman and son were killed while her husband received serious injuries when roof of their room caved in due to torrential rain in Bhadra village in Sheikhpura.
Separately, a woman and daughter died after roof of their house collapsed in Sheikhpura. Another woman was killed after a wall of her house collapsed.
According to report, more than 50 people have been injured in roof collapse incidents during last three days in Noor Pura area of Sheikhpura.
Meanwhile in Bajur Agency, three people including two children were killed when roof of several houses collapsed in various parts of Bajaur Agency.
Three people were injured when roof of a shop collapsed in Multan.
The met office has urged all the concerned authorities to remain high alert and forecast widespread rains for central and southern parts of the country on Friday.
According to met office, widespread rain with isolated heavy falls is expected in Gujranwala, Lahore divisions & Kashmir during next 48 hours.
Scattered rain-thundershower is also expected in Bahawalpur, Sahiwal, Faisalabad, Islamabad, Rawalpindi and Hazara division, while isolated rain is likely to occur in Gilgit-Baltistan during next 24 hours.
