Summary Minister says Monsoon Tree Plantation Campaign 2013 has been started throughout Punjab.
LAHORE (Online) - Provincial Minister for Forests, Wildlife & Fisheries Malik Muhammad Asif Bha Awan has said that Monsoon Tree Plantation Campaign 2013 has been started throughout the province.
He said that one crore ten lakh saplings would be planted during tree plantation campaign all over Punjab.
Provincial Minister inaugurated Monsoon Tree Plantation Campaign 2013 by planting a sapling in Jalo Park on behalf of Chief Minister Punjab.
Secretary Forests Maj (R) Shahnawaz Badar, Chief Conservator of Forests Rana Muhammad Shabir, concerned officers of the department, representatives of NGOs and a large number of people were present on the occasion.
Provincial Minister told that out of one crore ten lakh saplings, a target of 40 lakh saplings in government forests, 65 thousand in other government offices, one lakh 25 thousand in Defense Departments and 50 lakh ten thousand saplings on private land has been fixed.
Malik Muhammad Asif Bha Awan said that all officers and officials of Forest Department and people from all walks of life have to play their effective role during Monsoon Tree Plantation Campaign 2013 for making the province green as per vision of Chief Minister Punjab so that beside improving the environment, country’s economy could also be strengthened.
He said that all ministers, assembly members, administration of all districts and all departments will take active part in Monsoon Tree Plantation Campaign 2013 and instructions have been issued in this regard.
Provincial Minister told that 246 sale points have been set up at various places throughout the province from where saplings can be obtained.
He said that awareness and importance of tree plantation would be created among the people through print, electronic media, banners, pamphlets and other sources.
