LAHORE (Dunya News) - The Lahore High Court on Saturday sought reply from the Punjab government on an application seeking formation of a judicial commission on measles-related deaths.
Judicial Activism Panel chairman Advocate Azhar Siddique filed the application in an already pending petition against government’s failure to control measles epidemic.
The lawyer stated a commission comprising retired judge or judges, along with other independent experts enjoying good reputation, should be constituted to probe into the deaths of innocent children and to fix responsibility.
He requested that the health authorities should be directed to file a comprehensive report so that the court might get just and fair findings in the case to enforce fundamental rights.
The court heard arguments and issued notice to the government for July 10.
