ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, Federal Tax Ombudsman Shoaib Suddle revealed that the Federal Board of Revenue exempted up to 100% duty on some smuggled vehicles while SROs of the scheme were also changed time and again.
He said that the scheme was introduced for three-year-old vehicles but 15 to 20 years old vehicles were also cleared.
Suddle said a man belonging to Pashin got clearance of 52 vehicles on his identity card.
“Even the vehicles yet to be imported from Japan were cleared with the connivance of the authorities”, Suddle added.
