ISLAMABAD (Online): Pakistan Tehreek-e- Insaf president Makhdoom Javed Hashmi has welcomed Supreme Court verdict on GST annulment and urged the government to ensure implementation of court decision.
He was talking to media men outside the parliament here Friday. He alleged that government worked out budget for the fiscal 2013-14 in haste and no relief was given to the poor segments of society through this budget.
He indicated government had been forced to withdraw two decisions in terms of budget compiled by it in haste. Instead of slapping tax on elite class, the poor people have been overburdened with the heavy taxes, he regretted. As a result wave of inflation has swept over the country, he added.
Government should withdraw this budget and frame the budget afresh accommodating the poor people demands, he proposed.
It is prerogative of every government to formulate security policy, he said adding the interior minister should have taken the house on board before evolving national security policy in the wake of prevailing situation in the country.
Unilateral decisions had caused harm to the country in the past, he remarked.
It would have been far better if the interior minister had worked out security policy for the entire country rather than a single city, he underscored.
