QUETTA (Dunya News) - Balochistan budget worth more than one hundred and ninety-eight billion rupees for the next financial year was presented in the provincial assembly on Thursday.
Presenting the budget in the house‚ Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch said despite resource constraint‚ the government has decided to give fifteen percent increase in the salaries of government employees and in the pension of retired government employees. He said every possible step has been taken to provide relief to the people, adding that welfare of people only aim of government.
Giving details of the budget‚ the Chief Minister said over forty-three billion rupees have been allocated for development sector. Besides‚ thirty-four billion rupees have been earmarked for education sector.
Over sixteen billion rupees have been allocated for maintenance of law and order‚ eleven billion rupees for health sector‚ and five billion rupees for agriculture projects. Four point five billion rupees have been set aside for investment in mineral sector and two point five billion for investment in power sectors.
