Summary Protests against prolonged power outages continued across the country on Tuesday.
FAISALABAD (Dunya News)-Holding clubs and stones in their hands, hundreds of protestors attacked WAPDA’s sub divisional office here on Sheikhupura road and ransacked its premises.
The angry demonstrators also turned to Faisalabad Electric Supply Company’s (FESCO) grid station and damaged furniture inside it, giving vent to their anger over the unannounced load-shedding.
Police opened aerial firing and chased the youths till their homes in response to the stone-pelting. Enraged police officials entered into several houses, tortured women and arrested several protesters.
Meanwhile, students of Wafaqi Urdu University in Islamabad also protested against loadshedding.
Moreover, residents of Khanewal also protested against severe loadshedding and blocked Lahore-Multan and Khanewal-Kabirwala roads.
