ISLAMABAD (Web Desk): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidate Ibrar ul Haq has filed petition in Supreme Court (SC) seeking orders for revocation of election and re-election in his constituency NA-117.
The Election Commission (EC), District Returning Officer (DRO), DPO Norowal, DCO Norowal and newly PML-N MNA Ahsan Iqbal have been made respondents in the petition.
He took the plea that rigging had taken place in NA-117 and several bogus votes were cast therein while attempt was made to steal mandate of PTI. He was winning the election with overwhelming majority before the arrival of results from polling stations but he was declared unsuccessful when the result was announced.
He prayed the court to cancel the polls held in his constituency and ordered for re-polling in the entire constituency besides withholding the notification on success of Ahsan Iqbal forthwith.
