Summary India has declined to ensure security of Pakistani pilgrims intending to visit Ajmer Sharif.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Spokesperson Foreign Office Aizaz Chaudhry in a statement on Friday said that India has conveyed due to the prevailing security environment in India in the wake of following recent bilateral incidents‚ the government of India would not be in a position to ensure the safety and security of the group of Zaireen from Pakistan scheduled to visit Ajmer Sharif for participation in the annual Urs of Khawaja Moinuddin Chishti from 13 and 23 of this month.
The government of India has recommended to the government of Pakistan that the visit of the Zaireen to Ajmer Sharif this year may therefore be called off.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs has conveyed necessary advice in this regard to the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
