Summary Violence has claimed more than 90 lives since beginning of election campaign in Pakistan.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has decided to increase the number of security personnel on the most sensitive polling stations from seven to ten.
According to Election Comission, army will not be deployed at the polling stations, it will serve as quick response force.
The election commission has set up more than 73,000 polling stations, with 20,000 earmarked as sensitive or most sensitive.
The May 11 polls will mark the first time that a civilian government has completed a full five-year term and handed over to an elected successor, in a country ruled by the military for half its 66-year history.
So far, bomb and gun attacks have killed more than 90 people in direct attacks on politicians and political parties since April 11, according to an AFP tally.
