Summary More than 90 people have been killed in attacks on politicians and political parties since April 11.

HANGU (Dunya News) - At least eight people were killed and 37 others injured when a blast hit JUI-F rally in Hangu district.

JUI-F s provincial candidate Mufti Syed Janan is among the wounded.

The bomb hit a gathering of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F), a religious party in the outgoing government coalition, in the main bazaar of Doaba area.

Security forces have arrived at the scene and cordoned off the area.

Earlier on Monday, a joint rally for two other candidates from the same JUI-F faction of the party was bombed in the tribal district of Kurram, killing 23 people.

It was the second attack on any political party in the tribal belt since campaigning began for what will be Pakistan`s first democratic transition of power after a civilian government has completed a full term in office.

The Pakistani Taliban have opposed Saturday s general elections and directly threatened the main parties in the outgoing coalition, the Pakistan People s Party, the Muttahida Qaumi Movement and the Awami National Party (ANP).

Elections have already been postponed in three constituencies where candidates have been killed. Those constituencies are in the southwestern province of Balochistan, in Pakistan s biggest city of Karachi and in southern Hyderabad.
