Ashraf challenges rejection of nomination papers in LHC

Summary Raja Pervez Ashraf submitted an application in Lahore High Court today.

 

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Former prime minister Raja Pervez Ashraf has challenged rejection of his nomination papers for upcoming general election in the Lahore High Court on Thursday.

 

On Monday, the election tribunal comprising judges of the Lahore High Court upheld returning officer's decision to reject nomination papers filed by Ashraf to contest polls from a parliamentary constituency in his hometown of Gujjar Khan.

 

Meanwhile, the Sindh High Court allowed PPP leader Murad Ali Shah to contest election for PS 73.

 

Abdul Aziz Memo for NA 249, PPP’s Dr Nasarullah for PS-1 (Sukkur), Raja Khan Mehr for PS-6 and PS-8 and Ahmed Nawaz Jakhrani for PS-13 were allowed to contest elections.
