Seithi orders officers to serve without pressure

Summary Punjab caretaker chief minister has urged police officials to serve without political pressure.

 

While chairing a top-level meeting at chief minister house on Monday, Najam Seithi said that holding of transparent and fair and peaceful elections is a national responsibility.

 

Provincial home minister, chief secretary Punjab, secretary interior, IG police and other senior officers were also present in the meeting.

 

Najam Seithi said that executive and police officials should render their duties honestly and without any pressure as the interim government has appointed impartial police officers in the province.

 

He added that professionally competent officers have been appointed on the orders of the Election Commission; so that culture of bribery and corruption may be discouraged for rule of law in the country.

 

He said that the interim government would really cooperate with the Election Commission for fair elections in the country.

 

The caretaker chief minister also has directed the establishment to prepare comprehensive security plan for general elections.
