Summary NADRA has devised e-voting software of overseas Pakistanis on the order of the SC.
ISLAMABAD (Online) - The Supreme Court had ordered the NADRA to prepare software to facilitate the overseas nationals to cast their votes.
Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, hearing case pertaining to giving voting right to overseas nationals, had remarked that National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) should quit if it fails to provide voting facility to Pakistani living abroad.
“The Supreme Court will be briefed over the issue tomorrow,” NADRA Chairman, Tariq Malik told the media.
“The political parties and Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) would also be taken into confidence relating to the use of this software enabling overseas Pakistanis casting their votes, a private news channel quoted Malik as saying.
Tariq Malik said that his organization also helped ECP in devising a system for the scrutiny of the electoral candidates that would filter out the tax defaulters and dual nationals.
