Summary Chief Justice of Pakistan says we should prefer national interests as compared to personal benefits.
During hearing of case regarding missing prisoners from Adiala Jail and FATA law,
The court commented with the reference of General (r) Shahid Aziz that many people tend to prove staunch opportunists and take advantage of circumstances.
Three-member bench headed by the chief justice resumed hearing of missing prisoners from Adiala Jail. Counsel Ghulam Nabi on the part of Senator Professor Ibrahim presented General (r) Shahid Aziz’s book in the court. The lawyer pleaded that according to the aforesaid book, ex-president Musharraf would be remembered as the killer of the Muslim.
Chief Justice commented that what we are giving impression to the world about our Army. Terrorism is an uncontrollable issue. Our thinking should be in favour of national interests.”
Justice Sheikh Azmat remarked that many people take advantage of the situation and later start scandalizing other people. The real matter is not of law but implementation on law.
Chief Justice remarked that yet it is to be determined the reliability of the book written by General (r) Aziz.
“Some people want to destabilize law and order situation by such research works which have nothing to do with reality”, said Chief Justice.
The learned council also presented snaps of victims killed in drone attacks.
At this, Chief Justice said that the court is not conducting hearing of drone attack case.
The lawyer also prayed to take back his petition but the court refused to do so, with the direction that further arguments should be presented in the court on next hearing on April 3.
