Deadlock persists over caretaker CM slot in Punjab

LAHORE (Dunya News) - The second session of parliamentary committee over the selection of Punjab`s caretaker chief minister ended inconclusively on Monday. 

 

The six-member parliamentary committee comprised the ruling N-League’s Rana Sanaullah, Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rahman and Iqbal Chanar, while from the opposition Shaukat Basra, Chaudhry Zaheer and Zulfiquar Gondal.

 

The committee addressed the media after the meeting and hoped to agree on a name within the deadline.

 

The third and final meeting will be held on Tuesday morning.

 

If the committee failed to develope consensus on a name, the matter will be referred to the Election Commission of Pakistan for a final decision.
