Summary Barrister Farogh Naseem submitted the petition in Sindh High Court today.
KARACHI (Dunya NewS) – Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) on Monday filed a petition against delimitation of three national and eight provincial assembly constituencies in Karachi.
The petition was filed by Barrister Farogh Naseem in Sindh High Court (SHC).
While talking to media, MQM s Deputy Convener Farooq Sattar said that delimitation of constituencies in Karachi is a conspiracy to divide MQM’s vote bank.
Barrister Farogh Naseem said Karachi delimitation was unconstitutional and amounted to discrimination against the MQM.
He said that delimitation at this late stage when the election schedule has already been announced could not be done.
On the other hand, the ECP has clarified that Karachi delimitation was completed before the announcement of election schedule.
The step was taken on Supreme Court’s order, ECP added.
