Summary Bilour says Nawaz Sharif is showing no-confidence in Parliamentary Committee and politicians.
ISLAMABAD (Online) - Ghulam Ahmed Bilour said Thursday that Nawaz Sharif was expressing no-confidence in the Parliamentary Committee formed to choose the care taker PM.
“It is regrettable and does not suit the stature of a political leader of his caliber,” he said.
Talking to media in front of the parliament house, Bilour said, Nawaz Sharif statement that care taker PM should be chosen by the Election Commission was unfortunate.
“Such statements would demoralize the parliament and politicians. It shows that Nawaz Sharif has no confidence in the parliament and politicians.”
He said a political leader should avoid such statements, he said.
An eight member Parliamentary Committee formed to appoint a caretaker prime minister held its second meeting on Thursday.
During the first meeting, the committee discussed the names of Mir Hazar Khan Khoso and Rasool Bux Palijo for the caretaker prime minister besides framing rules of business.
The committee is discussing names of Justice Nasir Aslam Zahid and Dr Ishrat Hussain for the coveted post of the interim prime minister.
The government has nominated Dr Ishrat Husain and Justice (Retd) Mir Hazar Khan Khoso, while the PML-N has finalized the names of Justice (Retd) Nasir Aslam Zahid and Rasool Bux Palijo for the post of caretaker prime minister.
If the committee fails to appoint a caretaker prime minister by Friday, the matter would be referred to the Election Commission of Pakistan which will then make an appointment within two days.
