LAHORE (Dunya News) - The PPP-led opposition in the Punjab Assembly has nominated Justice (R) Syed Zahid Hussain for the post of caretaker chief minister. Justice (R) Hussain is a former judge of the Lahore High Court.
The opposition withdrew the name of Asma Jahangir and Mian Amir Mahmood while the leader has now forwarded the name of Hafeez Randhawa and Justice Zahid Hussain for the position.
The summary for dissolving the Punjab Assembly has also been prepared and signed by Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif. It is expected that the summary will be sent to Governor Makhdoom Ahmed Mehmood after it is reviewed by PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif later today (Wednesday).
