Summary Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf had ordered reversal in the increase of petroleum prices.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Despite the directives from the Prime Minister to keep the prices of petroleum products unchanged, the pump owners are selling petrol at the increased rate of Rs 106.60 across the country.
According to the details the Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf had ordered reversal in the increase of petroleum prices during a meeting with the finance Minister. He said that the prices of the petrol would stay at Rs 103.17 against Rs 106.60 to lower the economic burden on the masses ahead of the upcoming general election.
According to reports, the petroleum products continued to be sold at elevated rates (at Rs 106. 60) on Saturday across the country, including the twin-cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad despite the Prime Minister s directives to keep the prices unchanged.
The concerned authorities of oil and gas regulatory authority (OGRA) said that PM Raja Pervaiz Ashraf had given verbal order, adding that a notification to decrease the prices of petrol as soon as the Prime Minister issue a written directive.
