Summary Farooq H Naik says the ECP will take action according to the law against fake degrees holders.
ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News): Federal Law Minister Farooq H Naik has said that Election Commission would contact HEC directly for the verification of degrees instead of writing letters to the candidates.
He said this while speaking in the session of National Assembly on Thursday.
Naek said that the entire political parties reposed their confidence in election commission. He said that the special committee of National Assembly met the high officials of ECP.
The law minister said it was decided during the meeting that the process of verification of candidates’ degrees would be continued and election commission would take action according to the law against fake degrees holders.
“Earlier in 2008 general elections , the condition of BA was put in , which has been now abolished , Now those candidates who are not graduate , should not mention their educational qualifications on nomination form as BA or else they would be tangled in the case of telling a lie and they could be disqualified”, he added.
