Summary MQM delegation submitted the application to Sindh Assembly's acting speaker.
KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) on Wednesday nominated Amir Moin Pirzada as opposition leader in the Sindh Assembly. Earlier, the party had nominated Syed Sardar Ahmed for opposition leader’s slot.
Today, MQM delegation led by Sardar Ahmed and Dr Sagheer Ahmed called on acting speaker of the house Shehla Raza and submitted the application for allotment of opposition benches in the provincial assembly.
The acting speaker assured the party members that they would soon be allotted opposition benches in the assembly.
MQM, on Feb 16, had decided to quit the federal and provincial governments in protest against what it described as ‘negative attitude’ of the ruling Pakistan People’s Party (PPP).
