Summary Maulana Fazlur Rehman has met with Syed Munawar Hassan in Lahore today.
LAHORE (Dunya News) - Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Chief Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman has said a conspiracy to get elections postponed has failed.
He was talking to newsmen after holding a meeting with chief of Jamaat-e- Islami Syed Munawar Hassan in Lahore today (Saturday).
Maulana Fazlur Rehman said both the parties (JUI-F and JI) have agreed to work together in an effort to revive peace in the country.
Maulna Fazlur Rehman said that all the political leaders are invited on February 28 and today’s meeting was also held in this regard.
He said that all possible steps are being taken to restore peace in the country, adding that tribes in FATA have also constituted a jirga which required endorsement of political parties.
The JUI-Chief sought support of political leadership, saying that peace in the country is linked with FATA.
On the occasion, Syed Munawar Hassan said the provincial government is responsible for ensuring smooth law and order situation, however he added that he wanted to play his role for the restoration of peace in the country.
