Islamabad (Dunya News) – Interior Minister Rehman Malik has said that the federal government will have to take action if Punjab government fails to launch operation against the terrorist groups in the province.
He was addressing the media in Islamabad
Malik said the top leadership of Lashkar-e-Jhanjvi (LeJ) is based in Punjab, adding that the detainment of LeJ leader Malik Ishaq by Punjab government was an appreciable step but more was required including the launch of criminal cases against him.
Responding to a question over the matter of Maulvi Faqir, Malik said Pakistan will demand handing over of Taliban leader from Afghanistan through the Interpol.
Malik said Maulvi Faqir Muhammad, arrested by the Afghan authorities, was wanted in different cases and we want his deportation to Pakistan so that action could be initiated against him according to law of the land.
Referring to the dialogue offer of the Taliban‚ Malik said that the Taliban will have to demonstrate seriousness for talks. They first have to surrender their weapons before the start of negotiations.
