Summary ECP clarifies that the MPs are bound to submit their degrees’ record.
ISLAMABAD: In an official statement on Friday‚ the Election Commission of Pakistan said that hoaxes were being spread in the media that the fake degrees issue has been suspended.
The ECP clarified that it had not withdrawn from the fake degrees issue and rather was steadfastly determined to implement the judgment of Supreme Court in letter and spirit.
The process of verification of degrees shall be completed so as to achieve the objective of Article 62 and 63 of the Constitution, the statement said.
According to an ECP spokesperson, the members of Parliament, whom the ECP wrote letters, were bound to submit their degrees’ record.
